Remembering Marty Zahnle

On Tuesday, October 16, 2018, Martin F. Zahnle died at his home with his loving wife by his side. He valiantly fought a battle of over 5 years with lung cancer. He never complained . He was a kind and generous man who opened his home to his mother-in-law, nephew, and niece. His nephew Henry says 'I'm 100 percent certain that Uncle Marty is in heaven.' His mother-in-law passed to eternal life at his home. He was a faithful parishioner of Saint Mary of Vernon Parish. He served in the Air Force and retired from the Glencoe Post Office. He was his extended family's official photographer who greatly enjoyed capturing family celebrations. He is survived by his wife Marie (Kiernan), his brothers Daniel and Richard, Richard's wife Sharon, brother-in-law Dominick Ugolini, goddaughters Jean Gorski and Lee Hicks and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents A. Norman and Margaret (Sullivan), his sisters Maureen Ugolini and Carol Cowles, his niece Deborah Satchwell, and his mother-in-law Marjorie N. Kiernan.
