Remembering Coach Don Davis

Donald A. Davis, beloved father, grandfather, friend, and coach, died on November 19, 2017 in Deerfield, IL from complications of heart disease. He was 87 years old.

He attended Schurz High School and the University of Illinois, where he played baseball. He moved to Highland Park in 1952 to begin his teaching career and married school secretary Barbara Jehle in 1960. He taught PE and was PE chairman at Highland Park High School and was involved and well known in the Deerfield and Highland Park communities. His teaching and coaching career spanned 40 years, from 1955-1995 and he was admitted to the Highland Park High School Hall of Fame in 2005.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2017 from 1-4 pm at Kelley & Spalding Funeral Home, 1787 Deerfield Rd, Highland Park, IL.
