Remembering Marji Stark

I would like to inform our classmates that Marjie Stark  died late this afternoon in San Rafael California (August 1).  She leaves many friends - who will miss her very much. It needs to be mentioned that last year ( almost to the day) she attended our class reunion. As Ricky Leeds says ' it was the highest highlight of her last several decades.'

Her goal was to be well enough to attend our reunion and visit with childhood friends / see the Elm Place 'kids' -  / ride around Highland Park and visit
several friends of her parents.  She rallied and did it all.

I believe she will be buried next to her parents in Baltimore Maryland.

Someone sent me this prom picture of Marji last September, after the reunion. I'm guessing it was taken at home by her parents since she's alone.

I just so adored Marji and her mom! I remember going to birthday parties at her house and her mom would go all out!!! And I loved her house!!! She was always such fun!! She lived close to me.

I remember Margie's sparkle, and how last year's reunion made it seem eternal.  I've followed her unfortunate course indirectly over the last few years through my contact with Rick Leeds, who, among others of you, (especially as witnessed at the reunion), have been so supportive of her and the gifts of her personality that she provided for those of us able to recognize them.  Thank you Rick, Ida, Susie, and Vivian for making her dream come true, and Larry, for sharing that wonderful Prom photo.

I have many memories of contacts with Marji, but what stands out for me is that she was the choreographer for dances that I was involved in for Stunts and the musical (Guys and Dolls) my senior year at HPHS.  So talented!  And one of the nicest people ever.  So sorry to hear about her passing.
